About

A former college basketball player at the University of Alabama, Terrance ‘Doc’ Martin was a four-year letterwinner and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in political science. Doc has built an impressive career in scouting, player development, and coaching.


From 2010 to 2018, Doc worked with the New Orleans Pelicans under Monty Williams, serving as a collegiate scout and Director of Player Programs & Player Development Coach. In this role, he was responsible for identifying and evaluating players, contributing to roster development, and creating customized development programs for players and teams.


Before his time in New Orleans, Doc spent three years with the Portland Trail Blazers, working with Kevin Pritchard and Chad Buchanan as an East Coast collegiate and pro scout, contributing to the team’s Mid-Season Review and NBA Draft Guide.


In addition to his scouting experience, Doc has coached in the NBA Summer League for the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and New Orleans Pelicans. Over the course of his career, he has worked closely with elite players such as Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo, and DeMarcus Cousins, contributing to their development and success.
