PLAYER OVERVIEW

At 6'11" with a +3" wingspan, Cameron Williams has length you simply can't teach, and he pairs it with mobility, fluidity, and coordination that's rare at his size. He's a modern big who moves like a much smaller player.

From a skill-set standpoint, the intrigue starts on the perimeter. Williams shoots it from outside with range, giving him legitimate floor-spacing value at his height, and backs it up with a soft touch around the rim with both hands. He runs the floor well in transition and flashes decent ball skills for his size; enough to attack closeouts and get downhill on straight-line drives.

His length and instincts are weapons on the other end. A capable rebounder and shot-blocker, Williams covers ground, holds up defending in space, and uses active hands to get deflections and steals. Although somewhat raw, Williams possesses a tantalizing two-way profile, built on a foundation of size, athletic fluidity, and skill.

At his size, his physical tools and offensive skillset are very intriguing. His upside is high, and I'm curious to see how quickly he can put it all together. He's high on my watchlist.

EVALUATION

STRENGTHS

  • Physical Length: 6'11" with a 7'2" wingspan; impressive physical measurements that help him affect the game on both ends.

  • Mobility & Fluidity: Moves with coordination and fluidity uncommon for his size, with good hands to match.

  • Floor Spacing: Shoots it from outside with range, offering floor spacing at the power forward or center spots.

  • Transition & Touch: Runs the floor well and finishes with soft touch around the rim with both hands.

  • Perimeter Skill for Size: Decent ball skills that let him attack closeouts and beat defenders on straight-line drives.

  • Defensive Impact: A good rebounder and shot-blocker who covers ground, has the potential to defend in space, and generates deflections and steals with good instincts.

CONCERNS

  • Physical Strength: Thin frame that needs significant physical development; more fluid and coordinated, at this point, than explosive or elite athletically.

  • Finishing Through Contact: Gets knocked off his spot and doesn't yet finish well through contact.

  • Polish & Feel: Overall polish, footwork, and basketball IQ are still developing.

  • Defensive Ceiling: Provides length and rim protection, but projects more as a 4-5 than a true defensive anchor.

  • Shooting Consistency: Shoots well from outside but has room to become more consistent.

BOTTOM LINE

Cameron Williams possesses some things you just can't teach. At 6'11", he's a fluid athlete with advanced coordination and a raw but valuable offensive skill set, most notably his ability to shoot with range and stretch the floor. His combination of attributes teases significant long-term potential. With added strength and an improved feel for the game, Williams could turn that potential into reality.
