PLAYER OVERVIEW
Miikka Muurinen is a long, elite athlete whose game is built on a rare combination of length, mobility, fluidity, and explosiveness. At 7'0" with great size, he moves and runs the floor like a much smaller player, flashing the kind of vertical pop and energy that make him a constant threat above the rim. He's a dynamic lob target, transition runner, and highlight finisher who brings juice every time he's on the floor.
Muurinen does his damage in space and around the basket. He finishes efficiently inside off cuts, rolls, fast breaks, and putbacks, and his explosiveness makes him a play-finisher defenses have to account for in transition. Defensively, his length, athleticism, and active hands let him switch onto perimeter players, contest shots, and jump passing lanes, giving him legitimate two-way disruption potential. The questions are about polish and physicality: his frame is lean and needs strength, his outside shot is a work in progress, and his half-court game and decision-making remain raw. He's raw in spots, but his physical tools and upside are incredibly high.
Muurinen is a rare athlete at his size. His length, mobility, and explosiveness pop. He's a bit raw and needs to get stronger and more consistent, but his upside is sky-high.

EVALUATION
STRENGTHS
Vertical Pop: An explosive leaper who plays well above the rim as a lob target, transition finisher, and highlight-reel dunker; his bounce is special even by pro-prospect standards.
Guard-Like Mobility at 7 Feet: Covers ground and changes direction like a player half a foot shorter, letting him run the floor, switch onto the perimeter, and defend in space most 7-footers can't.
Efficient Finisher: Converts his chances around the rim, cashing in on cuts, rolls, run-outs, and offensive rebounds without needing set plays.
Length-Plus-Bounce Defense: Combines his reach with elite leaping to swat shots and dart into passing lanes, the kind of vertical and lateral range that disrupts an offense on and off the ball.
CONCERNS
Physical Strength: A wiry, lean frame that pro-level physicality can still bully; added strength is the gateway to finishing through contact and holding position.
Outside Shooting: He's shown flashes from outside, but his shooting hasn't proven consistent yet, and it's the swing skill that will define his ceiling.
Limited Half-Court Role: Right now he's a play-finisher more than a creator, with his half-court offense and feel for making others better still well behind his athleticism.
BOTTOM LINE
Muurinen is one of the most physically gifted bigs in his class, a 7-footer who moves like a wing. He's a high-flying finisher in transition, around the rim, and on lobs, and a disruptive defender who uses his reach to contest shots and his active hands to create steals. He needs to get stronger, add polish, and become a more reliable shooter, but his physical tools give him genuine two-way potential. He's a high-ceiling prospect in the truest sense, and if his strength and skill catch up to the athleticism, the payoff could be special.
