2026 NBA Draft: Luigi Suigo Scouting Report

Luigi Suigo

Position: Center

Team: Mega BG (Serbia)

Class: International

Height/Weight: 7'3", 240 lbs

Birthdate: January 29, 2007

Previous Team: AX Armani Exchange Milano (Italy)

Player Overview

Luigi Suigo is a modern center with rare size, touch, and floor-spacing potential. At 7'3", he has the physical profile of a true NBA center, but his offensive game is more skilled and perimeter-oriented than a traditional low-post big. Suigo shows excellent shooting mechanics for his size, with the confidence to operate as a pick-and-pop threat and space the floor from the frontcourt. He has soft hands, good touch around the rim, and the coordination to finish on rolls, dump-offs, and interior catches.

Defensively, Suigo’s length gives him natural rim-protection value, particularly as a secondary defender around the basket. He does a good job using timing and positioning to alter shots rather than relying strictly on explosive athleticism. He also runs the floor well for his size and appears comfortable transitioning from defense to offense. While he is not an elite vertical athlete and still needs to improve his lateral quickness, strength, and rebounding consistency, his combination of size, shooting touch, feel, and shot-blocking instincts makes him an intriguing long-term frontcourt prospect.

"Suigo's combination of size, touch, and skill is very intriguing. I'm looking forward to tracking his progression, particularly with his physical development." — Matt Babcock, NBA Draft Analyst

Strengths

  • Three-Point Shooting: Excellent mechanics for a player of his size; confident pick-and-pop shooter with a clean release.

  • Size and Length: Legitimate center size at 7'3"; creates natural advantages on both ends.

  • Rim Protection: Uses length, timing, and positioning to alter shots around the basket.

  • Mobility for Size: Runs the floor smoothly and transitions well from defense to offense.

  • Soft Hands and Touch: Catches passes cleanly and shows good feel finishing on rolls, dump-offs, and interior looks.

  • Basketball IQ: Plays with awareness and poise; generally stays within the flow of the offense and does not force difficult shots.

  • Stretch-Big Potential: Offers floor-spacing value while still providing size, length, and interior defensive presence.

Concerns

  • Lateral Quickness: Needs to improve his foot speed to defend switches, contain quicker players, and recover on closeouts.

  • Physical Strength: Must continue adding strength to hold post position, absorb contact, and rebound more consistently.

  • Athletic Burst: More reliant on timing and positioning than explosiveness; not an above-the-rim athlete in the mold of the most dynamic NBA bigs.

  • Rebounding Consistency: Needs to become more assertive on the glass to fully maximize his size and length.

  • Defensive Versatility: Projects best in drop coverage or as a situational rim protector early; switchability will depend on continued agility development.

Bottom Line

Suigo is a skilled stretch-big with excellent size, shooting touch, and rim-protection instincts. He is not as explosive as many NBA centers and will need to continue improving his strength, mobility, and rebounding presence, but his foundation is intriguing. At his young age, he has already shown comfort in a professional-style setting and has the tools to develop into a floor-spacing center with defensive value. If he continues to progress physically and gain confidence, Suigo projects as an NBA-caliber center.
