Game Summary

This was a hard-fought, highly competitive game from start to finish. Arizona started strong, while Houston struggled offensively in the first half, shooting just 7-28 and trailing by five at halftime. However, the Cougars kept the game within reach, and with 9:10 left in the second half, they trailed 41-48 before going on a decisive 12-0 run to take control and ultimately secure the victory.

Key Prospects

Milos Uzana

Houston | Guard | Height: 6-4 | Weight: 190 | Class: Junior

Uzan played with an elite mentality and relentless motor, fearlessly attacking the rim and embracing every challenge. He remained composed under pressure, controlled the tempo, and made sound decisions. His ability to play off two feet consistently allowed him to finish efficiently and read defenses well, proving invaluable to Houston’s late-game success.

J'Wan Roberts

Houston | Forward/Center | Height: 6-8 | Weight: 235 | Class: Senior

Roberts played with his signature high-energy approach, impacting both ends. His strong hands enabled him to secure rebounds and finish through contact, but his head-down drives sometimes made him predictable. Though he had a costly turnover in a key moment, his physical presence and relentless effort were critical to Houston’s victory.

LJ Cryer

Houston | Guard | Height: 6-1 | Weight: 200 | Class: Senior

Cryer had a rough start, looking rushed and lacking confidence early. He struggled defensively at times and was targeted throughout the game. However, a late first-half shooting burst, including back-to-back threes, turned his night around and gave Houston much-needed momentum. His ability to heat up quickly proved crucial in shifting the game’s trajectory.

Caleb Love

Arizona | Guard | Height: 6-4 | Weight: 205 | Class: Senior

Love played with his usual confidence and scoring mentality. Though initially struggling to adjust to Houston’s physicality, he found ways to generate offense and kept the defense on its heels. As the game tightened, he hit big shots to keep Arizona in contention, reinforcing his reputation as a clutch performer.

KJ Lewis

Arizona | Guard/Forward | Height: 6-4 | Weight: 205 | Class: Sophomore

Lewis was a defensive force, physically impeding LJ Cryer and disrupting Houston’s offensive sets. His athleticism and intensity allowed him to blow up plays and frustrate opposing ball handlers. However, his offensive struggles were glaring, as he shot multiple airballs and had difficulty finding his shooting rhythm. Despite that, his defensive contributions were significant.

Carter Bryant

Arizona | Forward | Height: 6-8 | Weight: 220 | Class: Freshman

Bryant strongly impacted both ends, particularly on the glass and as a shot-blocker. He disrupted Houston’s offense with his length and athleticism and delivered a clutch three late in the game to cut the deficit. His two-way presence was a key factor in keeping Arizona competitive.

Jaden Bradley

Arizona | Guard | Height: 6-3 | Weight: 200 | Class: Junior

Bradley struggled early, appearing physically outmatched and hesitant. Though he found some success attacking the rim as the game progressed, his lack of aggression limited his effectiveness and left him as a minor factor in Arizona’s offense.

Final Thoughts

Houston’s ability to respond late and execute in crunch time proved decisive in their win. Arizona started strong but couldn’t maintain control, as Houston’s defensive pressure and timely shooting turned the tide. Milos Uzan and J’Wan Roberts gave the Cougars necessary energy, while Caleb Love and Carter Bryant kept Arizona competitive. This game provided a valuable scouting opportunity to evaluate each team's prospects further.
