2026 NBA Draft Big Board: The Race for No. 1 Heats Up in March

Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, and Cameron Boozer

It’s now March, conference tournaments are here, Selection Sunday is around the corner, and naturally, the 2026 NBA Draft conversation is only gaining momentum.

At the top, Darryn Peterson still holds the No. 1 spot for me, but it has not been a smooth ride. Injuries and missed time have made the season feel choppy at times, creating real room for debate. AJ Dybantsa has been terrific and continues to make a legitimate push for the top spot, while Cameron Boozer has remained one of the steadiest players in the class and is making a strong case of his own.

And it is not just about the top tier. This class has real depth, with a strong wave of freshmen continuing to emerge and strengthen their case, including Caleb Wilson, Kingston Flemings, Darius Acuff, Keaton Wagler, Nate Ament, Brayden Burries, Labaron Philon, and Mikel Brown Jr., among others.

The deeper we get into the season, the more complicated this process becomes. More players keep stepping forward, more resumes keep evolving, and the challenge of separating prospects only gets tougher. But that is also what makes March so valuable. Stakes rise, pressure intensifies, and meaningful games can tell us a lot about who is equipped for the next level.

Every game matters more this time of year. We are inching closer to the NBA Draft in late June, but there is still plenty left to sort through. This is all part of the process, and there is still a lot of work to be done.

For now, here is our March update of the 2026 NBA Draft Big Board, built on our own evaluations while also factoring in each player’s long-term projection and our best read on their current draft stock:
